A story from the E Team

Recently I joined other parishioners in one of the Synod small group meetings. The teaching was sharing the Gospel in Word and Deed. We learned that God sends each of us on a mission. We were asked to make note of what stood out to us as we listened. I wondered, "What is my part in sharing the gospel in word and deed? Am I actually ready for this task?" The speaker assured us that God is always with each of us on our mission. Then I heard, "This is the way God works. He doesn't call the equipped. God equips those He has called." "That's us!" I reached for my pencil to write this down, as did two or three others at the table. They had been as inspired by this message as I was.

Several of us who participated in this small group are also members of the parish Evangelization Committee (E -Team) that strives to serve and glorify the Lord by sharing the Word of our Lord with all. How comforting to have heard that He will equip us for our mission!
